Visit of the President of NAQAEE to Mansoura University: The First Accredited Egyptian Public University

Prof. Sherif Khater -  President of Mansoura University, received prof. Alaa Ashmawy - President of the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education (NAQAEE), and Prof. Asmaa Mostafa - Vice President of the Authority for Pre-University Education.

The meeting was attended by Prof. Mohamed Attia El-Bayoumy - Vice President for Education and Student Affairs and Prof. Ashraf Hafez - Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research as part of an inspection visit to the NAQAEE branch located at Mansoura University.

Prof. Sherif Khater welcomed Prof. Alaa Ashmawy noting that this marks his first visit to an Egyptian university since assuming the presidency of the Authority. He emphasized the importance of cooperating with NAQAEE to establish a culture of institutional and programmatic accreditation a national duty aligned with the Egyptian political leadership's commitment to elevate education quality and placing Egyptian institutions on the regional and international competitive map.

During the meeting the University President highlighted the importance of international accreditation for Mansoura University’s educational programs in the coming period. This goal aligns with Egypt Vision 2030 to position Mansoura University among the world's elite institutions. Prof. Alaa Ashmawy welcomed this direction and confirmed the Authority’s support through identifying relevant international bodies and providing specialized training sessions.

Prof. Alaa Ashmawy officially presented the Certificate of Accreditation to Prof. Sherif Khater confirming Mansoura University as the first Egyptian public university to be accredited by NAQAEE.

Prof. Ashmawy congratulated the university’s leadership and staff members describing Mansoura University as a prestigious institution with distinguished educational and research activities. He praised the deans for their efforts in improving the quality of education across all faculties, achieving excellence in various fields and contributing to a continuous qualitative evolution that fulfills the university’s mission on national, regional and international levels.

The visit included a session with the deans of accredited faculties to discuss future requirements. The session featured a documentary on the university’s history and a presentation by Prof. Nisreen Shalaby-  Director of Mansoura University Quality Assurance Center, detailing the quality management system and statistics regarding various faculties and programs.

The President of the Authority also inspected the Faculty of Engineering where he praised the administration for ranking first in the Government Excellence Awards among 540 faculties nationwide. He noted that the faculty holds 11 accredited educational programs and several laboratories accredited by the Egyptian Accreditation Council (EGAC).

The visit concluded with an inspection of the NAQAEE branch at the university where Prof. Ashmawy commended its strategic location and its role in spreading a culture of quality through specialized training.
