 The Ministry of Higher Education adopts the implementation of the plan set by the University Education Development Conference in 2000, through six projects at the level of Egyptian universities. One of these projects is:

Quality Assurance and Accreditation

Quality assurance and accreditation projects are implemented in all Egyptian universities through: The National Committee for Quality Assurance and Accreditation. Within the framework of the effort carried out by   the Ministry of Higher Education and the State for Scientific Research.

An Egyptian system for quality assurance in higher education was proposed, compatible with international standards, to exchange recognition between it and both regional and global systems. This system was put for discussion with academic educational institutions and the stakeholders of higher education service then it was finalized and within the framework of achieving the strategic objective of the committee, which is preparing higher education institutions in Egypt for accreditation. It was planned to implement this system in two stages.

The first stage

Implementation of four projects as follows:

The project of quality assurance strategic plan preparation at the universities level.

The project of establishing Quality Assurance Center at the universities level.

The project of establishing internal quality assurance system at the universities level.

The project of establishing national academic references standards (NARS) at the committee sector level. 

Engage Development

To provide an opportunity for higher education institutions to develop and choose the effectiveness of their quality system and the efficiency of the used evidence and reports.

The second stage

It is the accreditation stage that will be carried out through The National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education (NAQAAE) as Mansoura University obtained a project for establishing of Mansoura University Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center, to be responsible for applying internal quality assurance and accreditation system in its faculties.

Mansoura University has many activities in the field of quality assurance and accreditation since many years and before the referred national projects in this field as the University was seeking continuous improvement in the academic, administrative, research, and community services, so the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center was established at the University at 2006, as a separate center with its own technical, financial and administrative separation according to article (307) of the executive regulation  for the year 1972 regarding the organization of universities.
