Mansoura University launches "A New Beginning for Education Quality Assurance" initiative
In the presence of Mansoura University president and the president of the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education (NAQAAE), Mansoura University launches "A New Beginning for Education Quality Assurance" initiative with the participation of 1000 students
On Tuesday 19th August, prof. Dr. Sherif Khater - President of Mansoura University, and Dr. Alaa eddin Ashmawy - President of the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education (NAQAAE), inaugurated the activities of the "New Beginning for Education Quality Assurance" initiative, held under the patronage of Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly.
The initiative aims to support state efforts in elevating education quality and achieving sustainable development goals.
The event was attended by 1000 students from various university faculties, marking the largest event of its kind among Egyptian universities. The initiative aims to raise student awareness of quality and accreditation concepts, equip them with skills for the labor market, and enhance their capabilities in quality fields in line with Egypt Vision 2030.
The ceremony was attended by Dr. Mohamed Attia El-Bayoumi - Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Azim-Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Developmen, Dr. Tarek Ghalwash -Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research and Dr. Asmaa Mostafa - Vice President of NAQAAE for Pre-University Education in addition to Dr. Hesham Abdel Nasser - Executive Director of the initiative and the university deans and Mr. Saad Abdel Wahab – University General Secretary, Dr. Nisreen Shalaby- Director of Mansoura University Quality Assurance Center and the center’s deputy directors, Dr. Fatima Al-Gohary and Dr. Amir Shalan in addition to vice-deans, department heads, faculty staff members, and student union representatives.
The proceedings began with the opening of a student activities exhibition held on the sidelines of the initiative, showcasing student innovations in academic, cultural, and artistic fields.
In his speech, Dr. Sherif Khater welcomed the attendees, noting that launching the initiative from Mansoura University reflects its leading position and commitment to quality standards. He emphasized that the university seeks to be a national model in integrating quality as part of the institutional culture. He praised the cooperation with NAQAAE asserting that Mansoura University is committed to quality on a practical and procedural level which positively impacts the educational process and society. He added that the participation of nearly a thousand students sends a strong message that they are true partners in development.
Dr. Alaeddin Ashmawy praised the organization, affirming that Mansoura University is a strategic partner as it was the first Egyptian university to receive institutional accreditation. He stated that the "New Beginning" initiative targets building a conscious generation capable of meeting national and international labor market demands. He stressed that true quality requires moving from quantity to quality, focusing on skills and knowledge rather than just grades.
Dr. Asmaa Mostafa expressed her happiness at being at Mansoura University describing the initiative as a milestone in involving students in the quality system. She noted that "New Beginning" has become a necessity for the labor market and rebuilding trust between students and universities and empowering students as active elements in educational development.
Dr. Hesham Abdel Nasser confirmed that the initiative is a practical step toward establishing quality-based education. He explained that launching it under the Prime Minister's patronage in cooperation with NAQAAE, the African Quality Organization, and the Arab League, reflects a deep understanding of the current stage's needs to activate the role of youth in developing their communities.
Dr. Nisreen Shalaby explained that the Quality Assurance Center works to integrate efforts between the university and the Authority. she presented a summary of the quality system's efforts in light of Egypt Vision 2030 which contributed to Mansoura University becoming the first accredited Egyptian university with ongoing work to transition toward fourth-generation universities.
At the conclusion of the event Mansoura University President, presented the university shield to Dr. Alaeddin Ashmawy, Dr. Asmaa Mostafa, and Dr. Hesham Abdel Nasser.
Finally the start of the two-day training program was announced featuring specialized sessions presented by a group of experts, including Dr. Hussein Khater, Ms. Lobna Hussein, Ms. Seham Saber, and Ms. Alaa Saeed.
